Registrar Change
Since InexpensiveDomains.com
become an ICANN Accredited Domain Registrar
under @Com Technology, LLC. We now have
customers with some of their domain names
in our new @Com system and others with
their domain names still in our old Tucows
system, or even both. As domain names
have come up for renewal we have been
moving them to our new @Com system by
conducting a change of Registrar transfer.
We highly recommend moving your domain
names to our new @Com system so that you
may take advantage of the new features
and services available only in our new
@Com system. Instructions on how to transfer
your domain name is provided below.
- URL and E-mail Forwarding
Effective June 15th, 2004
URL and E-mail forwarding services will
only be available to domain names in the
new @Com Technology, LLC system. If you
have a domain in our Tucows (SRS) system
and require forwarding services, you will
need to transfer your domain name to our
new @Com system by following the steps
below.
- Transferring to the
@Com system
Moving your domain name
into our new @Com system requires a change
of Registrar. When you submit a transfer
request to move your domain name to @Com
Technology, LLC the registry will add
1 year to the current expiration of the
domain name. So, for example if your expiration
date is currently May-05-2006 it would
become May-05-2007 after the transfer
is completed.
Here are the steps to transfer your domain:
1. Click on the "QUICK Transfers"
link located on the left side of this
page.
2. You will be prompted
to login or to create a new user login.
If you already have domain names in the
new @Com system you can use your existing
user name and password. If you do not
have any domain names in the new @Com
system, you will need to create a new
user account.
3. Once you have logged
into your new or existing account you
will need to click on "domain names"
in the left navigation menu. You will
then need to click the "transfer"
option in the same menu.
4. You will then be prompted
to select the type of transfer. This will
very depending on the extension of the
domain name. More help is provided on
that page. If you need an EPP authorization
code, which can be requested from here.
5. Follow
the prompts until the order is submitted.
Once the order is submitted you will be
able to check the status of your request
at any time. You will receive an e-mail
asking you to confirm your intent to transfer
to "Inexpensive Domains".
The entire process takes
about 3 days, but can take more or less
time depending on how fast you respond
to the confirmation e-mail.
6. After your domain name
has been moved over successfully, you
will receive an e-mail. You will then
be able to log into the new control panel
at http://inexpensivedomains.com and manage
your domains.. If you would like to use
the new URL and E-mail forwarding system,
you will need to update your DNS servers
by selecting the domain name then choosing
the "Use our DNS servers" option.
You will then be able to re-create your
URL and E-mail forwarding settings in
the new system. The first update will
take about 24 to 48 hours, but changes
after that will be in real-time.
